Elementary School

ELEMENTARY
There are many excellent options for the elementary aged child including: Charter Schools, Private Schools, Homeschooling, Un-Schooling, On-line Schooling, and even the regular public education route with additional conscious support. My main gauge is how happy your child is in the chosen scenario and whether or not they are receiving nurturing support for who they are. Do they feel good about themselves, are they free to be who they are, or are they being squelched or limited in some way. There are great schools and great teachers in every option and yet, the simple fact of having to teach a larger group of children within a set system of acceptable standards, requires an enculturation which limits the possibilites and the individuation.
Homeschooling with supports or finding a great private school with small groups and aligned values, seems to be the best way to ensure your child will blossom as the individual he or she is. One can obtain curriculum (free or paid) and then jump off of it into your child’s specific interests, learning modalities and desired off-spins. Many public schools offer homeschooling options where the curriculum and work is provided; and your child meets with a teacher once a week to turn in work and get guidance. Homeschooling with additional supports such as a tutor, teacher, community or homeschool groups, child workshops and playgroups all make this option richer and easier to pursue.
New Earth Cyber School offers the homeschooling option and offers many additional workshops and courses which will support both the social and spiritual aspects of your child.
