STEP 1- Pick the subject you want to start with below and do all the assignments. Keep track of your time spent studying and write down each website section you complete with notes about it. Make note of areas you need help in and seek out that help. If there is something you don’t understand – write it down and Email or Call for assistance.

MATH

  1. Go to http://www.GCFLearnFree.org and sign up for their classes. Take "Math Basics" and complete all the lessons plus one other class.
  2. Go to BBC Skillwise http://www.bbc.co.uk/skillswise/numbers/wholenumbers/
    Do the sections on whole numbers, measures-shapes-space, fractions-decimals & percentage and handling data. Do the fact sheets, worksheets and games. Take your time and really get each section so you understand it.
  3. Go to www.FreeRice.com Click on the word "SUBJECTS" and do Basic Math- Pre-Algebra and Multiplication Table if you need that.
  4. Go to http://www.geocities.com/multiplicationfacts/bestlinks Do each activity for: FRACTIONS, DECIMALS, PERCENTS, and NEGATIVE NUMBERS just to know it is locked in!

WRITING:

  1. Next go to link for an overview of the 5 paragraph essay and many related resources. Read each section and try it out. Check out the 4 types of essays (expository, persuasive, narrative and descriptive) The goal is to be able to write one of each. For starters choose one type and go for it. Be sure you have a clear introduction paragraph, 3 supporting paragraphs and a strong concluding paragraph. The key is to also ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic or introductory sentence and a clear closing or transitional sentence which leads to the next paragraph. The last sentence in the last paragraph should end with a punch, and this paragraph must sum up your writing and refer back to your first paragraph main idea or overall topic. See links below for more help. Find the one that works for you or try them all. Pick a topic you really like – that makes it way easier. Use the first two links to get it going. Write about a hobby, sport, or other area you love. YOU CAN DO THIS - TRUST ME!

  2. Go to: BBC Skillwise and do the grammar factsheets, worksheets and games. http://www.bbc.co.uk/skillswise/words/grammar/
  3. Go to: http://owl.english.purdue.edu/handouts/grammar/ review.
  4. Do the above steps and then complete this:
    Go to http://www.lessontutor.com/ltgram9home.html and do all the Language lessons on that page. Email me with any questions and when you get finished.

VOCABULARY

  1. Go to www.FreeRice.com and do-Vocabulary Lessons (the main page) It automatically puts you at the right level, just keep working on it. Work on it everyday for at least 10 minutes.
  2. Go to http://www.sheppardsoftware.com for a dynamic multiple choice online game.

READING

  1. Go to BBC Skillwise and do all the Reading sections. http://www.bbc.co.uk/skillswise/words/reading/
