There are many practical and heart centered alternatives to the mainstream education including Charter Schools, Independent Study Programs (ISP’s), Private Schools, Homeschooling, Un-Schooling and on-line schooling. There are many great options among these alternative paths, although some have become overly expensive and often it seems that the alternative schools have melded into variations of the public systems. My feeling is that education needs to be completely transformed. What our children are receiving in the current educational system is not preparing them for the world that is unfolding at this time. Their spirit, their voice and their gifts are being squelched in the process and the result affects not just them, but all of us; because these children are here to create change and help bring forth a new earth.

What seems to be missing in education as a whole is knowledge that supports an inner development. Teaching a child to access their inner resources, to believe in who they are, to connect to their heart and learn how to listen to their own wisdom, intuition and inner voice is essential. Learning skills to teach them to communicate and interact with peers and adults so that they can express their unique viewpoint freely, in ways that can be heard and respected. Skills such as non-violent communication, mediation, and designing alliances must be included in the education. Also learning meditation, yoga, how to let go of anger and sadness, centering and grounding techniques are needed for these children who are often very sensitive and open energetically. Another key element is teaching and supporting self awareness so they do not create masks and act according to some outer reference point due to a need for approval and acceptance.

New Earth Cyber School offers resources and services for an alternative to mainstream education which includes the conscious development of inner resources, life skills, environmental awareness and creative expression. Its mission is to support young people in unfolding their gifts so that a new world that is spiritually evolved, peaceful, loving and in harmony with Mother Earth can be birthed.
