Mother Earth

"The future belongs to those who understand that doing more with less
is compassionate, prosperous, and enduring, and thus more intelligent, even competitive. " (Paul Hawken)

Mother Earth, Environment, Sustainability

The responsible stewardship of the earth is something we must all hold as essential. To be in right relationship with Mother Earth requires understanding that all parts of her are living and worthy of respect, gratitude, kindness, protection and love. Humans are only one guest on the planet among many. Mother Earth gives selflessly to sustain us and we must realize that we can not survive without her gifts. We must learn to give back, replenish, restore and respect her.

We often erroneously think that the Indigenous cultures engage in archaic and simplistic practices that hold no true meaning. We could not be more mistaken. In fact our lack of respect and knowledge of Mother Earth is the true ignorance. It is these Indigenous people, cultures and practices that have protected our earth and their understanding is what we must embrace if we are to survive. Mother Earth is sustaining us and all we do is TAKE. We have lost touch with her and we MUST regain our connection so we can again hear her speaking to us. Let us learn from those who respect the earth and care for her.
